Holiday Reading

If you still haven’t been on holiday and you want a good book to read on the beach then look no further than The Ghost: A Novel by Robert Harris. It’s a wonderfully witty and perceptive political thriller and really keeps the pages turning. When you realise that Harris was close to the Labour Party in the early nineties, the description of a ‘former prime-minister’ becomes all the more interesting. I won’t say more because it will spoil the story – but go out and buy it. I’m going to start Kate Mosse’s book Labyrinth when jet lag kicks in in the early hours – I’ll tell you more about it when I finish it.

If novels are not your thing, then you should get Surprised by Hope: Rethinking Heaven, the Resurrection, and the Mission of the Church, you won’t regret it. Honest

I’ve read Ghost too. It’s a great book. I didn’t realise he was close to the labour party, though it’s not hard to see who the former prime-minister is modelled on!
