Lausanne in Cape Town: Monday

Well, after years of planning, the Third Lausanne Congress on World Evangelisation kicked off properly this morning. At least, I think it was this morning it feels as though it were three or four months ago!

As is often the case at big conferences, the main impressions that I’m left with come from the meetings in coffee queues and at meal times outside of the meetings. I’ve bumped into a number of good friends from around the world and I’ve met some people who I’ve long wanted to meet – great stuff Please keep praying that I will make some really strategic contacts during this time here.

I need to head back to our apartment, so I don’t have time to say much about the actual conference. However, I do have time to mention that Ajith Fernando gave a good study on Ephesians 1 and our table group discussion and prayer time was excellent. I’m sure that this part of the conference will be a highlight.

There is a lot being done and said during this conference, but the big question is how do we hear God’s voice among all of the other competing voices? It is going to be a challenge.
