The New Testament was recorded into the Guji-Oromo language and edited by Faith Comes by Hearing and placed onto the Proclaimer (audio player). This was the first time the recording was heard by people who speak Guji-Oromo. The voices of some of the people in this small group are in the recording and as we continued to listen different ones would share what part they did. Yonathan brought several Proclaimers and was instructing the group on how to use them before distributing them to the community.
There isn’t a lot of leaping around a clapping here, just thoughtful concentration as people listen to God’s Word, despite that, I find this very exciting because similar scenes will be played out in Kouya Country in the next few weeks when the first audio players with the New Testament recorded on them arrive. There probably won’t be someone there to film it – so this will have to do for the moment.
