What’s Next: Crowdsourcing a Future!

PodcastGenerally, if you want to know what we are doing, this blog may not be much help (though, its a pretty good place to find out what we are thinking.) The best way to actually keep up with our movements is through our regular news emails, which you can sign up for on the right hand side of this page.

Yesterday, we sent out a big bit of news, which you can read below.

Over the next year we will see a big change when my role changes. I have been Executive Director of Wycliffe Bible Translators for coming up to six years now and, having talked and prayed it through with a number of people, we feel that it is time for me to step down. In God’s grace, I’ve led Wycliffe through a couple of huge changes; moving the training to Redcliffe College and setting up in new offices close to High Wycombe. Wycliffe is well placed to move into a new phase, with a closer focus on the main mission of the organisation and it is a good time for someone new with fresh vision and new energy to lead the group on into the future.

I will be stepping down from this role in the summer or, perhaps, earlier if a replacement is found in good time.

I feel very encouraged by all that God is doing through Wycliffe and I am very privileged to have been a part of the leadership of the group.

Please pray for the trustees and leadership of Wycliffe as they work through the process of finding my successor. These things are never easy.

Pray, too, for Sue and I as we ponder options for our future. A time to catch up with friends and supporters and recharge our batteries is very much on the agenda for the latter half of next year.

If you’ve like to read the official Wycliffe announcement you can find it here.

Meanwhile, the obvious question is what should I do next? I thought it would be interesting to see what people think I should do. If you have an idea; why not put it in a comment. Both sensible and thought through suggestions and extremely silly ones are welcome!
