There are some distinct similarities between this year’s holiday on a Thai island, and last year’s break in the north of England – mainly to do with heavy rain! On our way to a Bible translation conference in Northern Thailand we’ve stopped off for a week on the island of Koh Samui. which is a lovely location. For the first couple of days there was lots of sunshine and we were able to do lots of snorkelling and reading books on the beach. We also hired scooters for a day so that I could fall off and bruise myself pretty badly (actually, that may not have been the reason, but it was the result). The last few days, though have been very rainy (well, it is rainy season) and so, we’ve found ourselves more or less confined to our balcony where we’ve looked out over the sea and read books – very relaxing and probably just what we needed after the last few hectic months.
