A bit more on Worship

One of the things that sometimes worries me in some worship songs is the way they imply a familiarity with Almighty God. Yes, Scripture uses lots of tender metaphors to describe God, but he is still God and we would be wise to treat him with respect. This cartoon from ASBO-Jesus captures my thoughts wonderfully.

  • Eddie – I agree – too familiar. I object to the phrase, “Thou art worthy “, repeated over and over. That phrase is A GIVEN.

I do believe the genesis of these “presentations” called music, have their origin in the dumbing down of education. Unfortunately, the Christian community has also been a victim of this process.
