The impossible dream meme.

It seems that you are no one in the blogging world if you have not started a meme and as I always aim to be at the cutting edge of cool (yeah, right!), I thought that I would give it a go.

As I get older, there are more and more things that I wish that I had done. I wish I’d spent more time gardening, read more books, practised more on the guitar, learned to speak Spanish and so on ad nauseam. However, all of those are things that I could have done if only I’d had a bit more application and hadn’t spent so much time trying to think up a meme just so I could hold my head up in blogdom.

However, as the years creep on it’s sad to realise that I’ll never achieve certain things even though there was no chance that I’d do them in the first place. For example, I have pangs of regret when I realise that I’m past my prime and I won’t be getting that phone call in the early spring to say that I’ve been named the captain of England’s cricket team and I’m unlikely ever to be asked to lead an Everest expedition.

So, what is my biggest impossible dream? Well, when the lights go out and my head hits the pillow, it’s not unusual for me to score numerous tries and make some devastating tackles in an England-France rugby match. Yes, my impossible dream is to be the blind-side flanker for the England team. It was never going to happen – but I still regret never having played rugby for my country.

So, I hereby tag the following and ask them to name their impossible dream and then tag a few other people: Doug, Paul, David and Ruth.
