I’m sorry, but making occasional trips overseas doesn’t qualify you to speak about the nature of mission any more than sitting in a pew gives me the background to talk about church leadership.

Some vague thoughts about the time of year.
Theologically speaking, mission begins with the begetting of the Son and the procession of the Spirit from the Father. It starts with the Trinitarian life of God before it ever involves the creation, let alone the human part of that creation. We have discovered a doctrine of mission and so far, humanity has not even come into the picture.
If a church’s mission activity doesn’t involve reaching outside of the UK, taking the Gospel to places in the world where it has not reached and promoting the distribution and use of the Bible, then something has gone awry.
