It’s always nice when someone links to this blog in general or to one of the articles here. It shows that what we are doing is appreciated by others and also brings more traffic to the site. You can always tell when one of the more popular blogs has linked to us because we get a sudden spike in traffic.
There are two sites I’d like to highlight which automatically link to every post we make here.
The first is the Wycliffe Bible Translators International website. This site is getting more and more content as time goes on (I’ve written a few articles which will appear there eventually). On the front page, there is a section of news about Wycliffe and Bible translation in general which includes automatic updates from Kouya Chronicle. I must admit that since they started doing this, I’ve had to consider how much what I write is suitable for an international audience. I now write less that is of purely UK interest.
Given that we work for Wycliffe, it is not surprising that they give updates from our blog. However, we have no formal connection to CMS and yet they include the first few lines of every Kouya Chronicle post on their website. I really value the fact that they include us in the page entitled Live Feeds from the CMS Community Blogging Around the World. We are not formally part of the CMS community, but we do have a lot in common with them and I hold CMS in extremely high regard. I think it speaks volumes for CMS that they are willing to include blog posts from what could be seen as a ‘rival’ mission organisation. It shows that CMS are more interested in the advancement of God’s mission than they are about guarding their niche. This raises an interesting challenge to me in the work I do with Wycliffe. How can I follow the example of CMS?

If I had a page I’d definitly link to you, but I don’t tolerate most blogs as a general rule. In fact this is the only one I can read for more than 3 minutes, and I check up on it faithfully. 🙂 I appreciate the thoughtfulness and intelligence of your posts and though I don’t have my own page, I have been known to send links via e-mail to friends and family- Hope you don’t mind being (positive) points of conversations regarding the world church. 🙂
I even appreciate your UK church observations as it opens the eyes of “cultural Christians” in the territory I was raised, and also helps them see what it means to be a believer in other parts of the world. My cousins are considering a move to the UK and so I have scoured your posts on church life in order to prepare them (Lord help them with the culture shock!)
