Scenes From a Trip to Nigeria

There is nothing profound about this blog post at all. Just a few photos of things that took my interest while I was in Nigeria recently. After all, it isn’t every day that you get to play cricket with W.G. Grace.

When visiting a language project, I was impressed with the way one of the translators set about cleaning the solar panels.

For most of the time I was in Nigeria, I was at a conference centre where I was leading a retreat for Bible translation workers.

Speaking

One thing that I really enjoyed was the way in which Nigerian and Expat colleagues were willing to discuss and share ideas. I don’t think I’ve been in many situations where people from different backgrounds were quite so open to share together.

discussionInternet connection wasn’t the best. But I was able to borrow this rather fascinating gadget which allowed me to connect to a 3g signal via wifi. So with my iPad and keyboard, I was able to more or less keep up with my email while on the road.
