There is nothing profound about this blog post at all. Just a few photos of things that took my interest while I was in Nigeria recently. After all, it isn’t every day that you get to play cricket with W.G. Grace.
When visiting a language project, I was impressed with the way one of the translators set about cleaning the solar panels.
Politics is very important in Nigeria and even my guest house flannel was used to carry a slogan.
Though I dread to think what the British press would have made of this candidate’s name.
For most of the time I was in Nigeria, I was at a conference centre where I was leading a retreat for Bible translation workers.
One thing that I really enjoyed was the way in which Nigerian and Expat colleagues were willing to discuss and share ideas. I don’t think I’ve been in many situations where people from different backgrounds were quite so open to share together.
Internet connection wasn’t the best. But I was able to borrow this rather fascinating gadget which allowed me to connect to a 3g signal via wifi. So with my iPad and keyboard, I was able to more or less keep up with my email while on the road.
