The Becoming of G-d

Odd title, for a rather interesting book! The Becoming of G-d by Ian Mobsby is subtitled What the Trinitarian nature of God has to do with Church and a deep spirituality for the Twenty First Century. If you’ve read Delighting in the Trinity: Just Why Are Father, Son and Spirit Such Good News? by Tim Chester and want to think through more of what an understanding of the Trinity has to say to the church today, then this would be a good place to start. Mobsby argues that the Western Church has not really understood the Trinity very well at all and that this has lead to an over stress on the individual and a downplaying of the corporate nature of the Christian faith. There is a good deal of challenging stuff here – I’m not sure I agree with all of it, but I’m glad I read it. Amazon don’t have a photograph of the cover!
