Maps and Stuff

I’ve just added the rather funky Geoloc visitor map to the sidebar. It’s rather nice and tells you were you are – presumably in case you are not sure. It will also tell you where other visitors to the the site are located. However, the traffic we get here is so small, that the chance of two people actually visiting at the same time would seem to be rather small. I may well remove the ClusterMaps in a while as it doesn’t seem worth having the two. I’ll wait and see what Geoloc looks like in a couple of weeks. If you have any thoughts on the merits of these two, please let me know.
Installing Geoloc is moderately complex. You need to edit a php file and add a couple of extra tables to your MySQL database. No, I didn’t know what that meant before I started, and I managed to work it out. However, if you are nervous about poking around with the insides of your blog, I don’t advise trying. Oh, and the instructions are all in French.

This post is more than a year old. It is quite possible that any links to other websites, pictures or media content will no longer be valid. Things change on the web and it is impossible for us to keep up to date with everything.
