A Sermon on the Trinity

“Here the monks gathered every Sunday to hear a sermon from the Abbot, except on Trinity Sunday owning to the difficulty of the subject.”

I found this quote in an article by Bishop Lesslie Newbigin. It rather sums up the way that we seem to find the Trinity a very difficult subject to talk or think about. But, if God is Trinity, then surely we should make the Trinity the basis of our understanding of theology and the Christian life.  There is a terrific sermon that illustrates the importance of the Trinity over at Connexions – it’s well worth a read.
