I’d strongly encourage you to take a look at the report from the Thinking Mission Forum’s discussions on Colonialism and Mission which you can find here. In particular, read the notes of Rogelio Prieto’s paper (scroll down to the second page) which is informative, thought provoking, insightful, hilarious and as fine an example of a sustained metaphor as you will read anywhere!

When I clicked on the link the first time I got a login dialog asking me for a user name and password to connect to global connections – which I don’t have. But clicking on it a second time loaded the .pdf file – weird!
