Loving and Loving

A nice seven minute video which might make you think twice about some of the New Testament Greek that everyone knows.

It’s probably safe to say that though most Christians don’t know much New Testament Greek, many of them know that there are a number of Greek words for love and that there is a special word for God’s love; agape as opposed to the word for human love phileo.

Long time readers of Kouyanet may remember that I’m not entirely convinced by this distinction. This excellent seven minute video gives a brilliant bit of background to the Greek of John 21, one of the passages which is usually cited to prove the difference between the two Greek words.
